The Chauvin Arnoux C.A 6550 megohmmeter is a high-end portable measuring instruments intended for the measurement of very high electrical insulation and resistance values, mounted in a rugged site housing with a cover; it has a graphic screen and can operate on battery or mains power.

With its site-proof casing, the Chauvin C.A 6550 insulation tester is used to check equipment insulation during manufacturing, on-site installation work, periodic inspections and recommissioning of installations.

Specially adapted for checking insulation on rotating machinery with a 12 kV power supply or higher, the Chauvin C.A6550 complies with the IEEE43 standard which recommends insulation testing at 5-10kV.

Wide measurement range from 10 kΩ to 30 TΩ.
Fixed or programmable test voltage from 40 V to 10/15 kV.
5 mA charging current.
Large backlit LCD screen with digital display, bargraph and R(t)+u(t), i(t) and i(u) graphs.
Automatic calculation of DAR / PI / DD /∆R (ppm/V) ratios.
